1.

Open Microsoft Office Word 2003.

Open Case Study Draft 2 from the sample files folder.

Select all the text on pages one and two (the two pages after the table of contents.)

Click the Format menu and click Paragraph.

 

In the Alignment section, ensure Left is selected.

In the Indent section, choose First line from the drop-down menu.

Type 0.5 in the By box.

Choose 1.5 lines for line spacing.

Click OK.

Scroll to the beginning of the document.

Select all the text in the title page.

Click the Format menu and click Borders and Shading.

For the Setting, click Box.

For the Style, choose whatever you want. (In the sample, we have chosen a double solid line.)

For the Colour, choose a shade of yellow.

For the Width, choose 2 ¼. (If this isn’t available, choose the closest size. If there is only one width available, that is fine.)

Use the buttons around the preview section to ensure your border is applied around the whole text, not each line.

Choose Paragraph from the drop-down menu.

Click OK.

Scroll to the second page.

Place your cursor after the text Table of Contents and press Enter.

Click the Paragraph icon on your standard toolbar () to show document markings and make sure we have no special breaks here.

Click the Paragraph icon again to turn document markings off.

Click the Format menu and click Borders and Shading.

Click the Horizontal Line button.

 

 

 

9.

In the Horizontal Line box, find a style you like.

Click it to select it and click OK.

 

 

10.

Scroll to page four. Select the lines only in the first column.

 

 

 

11.

Click the Format menu and click Borders and Shading.

Click the Shading tab.

Make sure the top option says No Fill on the right.

For the bottom set of options, choose 50% for the Style and Yellow for the colour.

In the Apply section, ensure Text is selected.

Click OK.

Repeat steps 10 and 11 for the next two columns. Remember to select the lines only, not the text.

 

 

13.

Scroll back up to the beginning of the document and select the two lines on the title page.

 

 

 

14.

Click the Format menu and click Borders and Shading.

Click the Shading tab.

In the Fill section, click Light Yellow. Click OK.

 

 

15.

Save your document as Case Study Finished.
