Open
Microsoft Office Word 2003.
Open the
Interviewing document from the
sample files folder. |

Scroll to the
first
page. Move your mouse over the
middle of the page until your cursor turns to an. (It may help
to zoom out.)

Once your cursor turns
to an ,
double-click that spot.
Type
Better
Interviewing Exercise.

Select the text we have
just typed and press
Ctrl
+ U to underline it.

Click the icon on
the formatting toolbar to open the styles task pane.
Right-click the
Underline style and click
Modify Style.

In the Modify dialog
box, apply these properties:

Style Name:
Underline
-
Style Type:
Paragraph
-
Algerian
font
-
Size
22
-
Bold
-
Indigo
Colour
-
Underline Style:
Words
Only (Format – Font)
-
Border: Box Setting, Single Solid Line,
Indigo colour, 1 ½ point
(Format – Border)
Click
OK
once these settings have been applied.

In the styles task
pane, click
New Style. |

|

In the New Style window,
fill out the following information:
-
Style Name:
Character Style
-
Style Type:
Character

Do not fill out the
Formatting information. Instead, click the
Formatting button and click
Border.
In the border window,
click the
Shading tab.
In the Patterns section,
choose
90% for the
pattern and
Light Yellow
for the colour.
Click
OK.

Select all the
blanks in page two of the
document. (Remember that you can hold the Ctrl key to select
multiple items.)

Once all the blanks are
selected, click
Character Style
in the styles task pane to apply that style. |

Right-click on the
Style Underline
we created earlier and click
Delete.
Click
Yes
to the warning. |

Scroll up to the
first
page of our document and see
what happened to the title page. |
|
|
|
|

Save your
document if you wish and then
close
Microsoft Office Word 2003. |
