Open
Microsoft Office Word 2003.
Open the
Sample Letter document from the
sample files folder. |

Click the
Format menu and click
AutoFormat. |
|

|
|

Click
AutoFormat and review each change.
For
the document type, choose
Letter.
Click
OK. |

|

In the next step of the
AutoFormat, click
Review Changes.

Note the changes that
have occurred in your document.

Click
Cancel in the Review box. |

Back in Step 2 of the
AutoFormat, click
Style
Gallery.

In the Style Gallery,
choose
Elegant Letter
and click
OK.

In the
AutoFormat window, click
Accept All.

Now we should be back in
the main screen of Word.
Click the
Tools
menu and click
Templates and Add-ins.
In this dialog box,
click
Organize.

In the Organize window,
click
Close File
under normal.dot.

Now, an
Open
File button should appear where
Close File was. Click
Open
File.

In the browse box,
browse to
Letter Template
in the Sample Files folder.
Select the file and
click
Open.

Find the style
Return Address in the Letter
Template list.
Select it and click
Copy.

Click the
Close
button in the organizer. |

|

|

Click the
Tools
menu and click
Options.
In the
View
tab, find the
Style area width
box.
Enter the number
2
in it.
Click
OK.

Click the
View
menu and click
Normal to
complete the operation.

Select the first
four
lines which are using the
Inside Address style.

Click the
styles drop-down menu.
Click
Return Address.

Click the
Tools
menu and click
Options.
On the
View
tab,
delete the
text in the
Style area width
box.
Click
OK.

Save your
document as
Formatted Sample Letter.
